our guiding principles
Thetis-Akademie has committed itself to supporting people in organizations which have recognised the necessities for the next step of evolution. All of our know-how and our experience in transformative growth processes are dedicated to these courageous people.
The next step of evolution – Organizations
are facing challenges today as they have never experienced before. The
old management theories have obviously failed as they are based on the
same way of thinking that caused this global crisis. We must think of a
new kind of economy and need leaders who credibly embody this way of
thinking and bring it into the world.
Create spaces – When people are
together they automatically create spaces. Depending on the condition
of these spaces this leads to responsible results or not. The results
are therefore never by chance, but a direct consequence of the produced
quality of the space. Organizations which want to optimise their
results need a space awareness. This includes: Recognising spaces,
creating spaces, navigating spaces and removing unfavourable or even
destructive spaces completely.
Define success – In an
economic and social order which is ruled by globality the old paradigm
of success (success on the stock exchange, constantly rising profits,
unlimited growth, “Take-Make-Waste”) has become
questionable. Success must be individually redefined for each
organization today - namely as the total of economic, social,
ecological, health and meaningful success.
Drive to Learn – All
human beings are born with an innate, lifelong desire and ability to
learn, which should be enhanced by all organizations.
Core Learning Capabilities
– Organizations must develop individual and collective
capabilities to understand complex, interdependent issues; engage in
reflective, generative conversation; and nurture personal and shared
aspirations.
Cooperation across all conceivable boundaries
– Our world is complex and the current global problem situations
are just as complex. In order to find feasible and sustainable
solutions for the actual challenges corporates will have to cooperate
with partners and organizations with which they traditionally would not
cooperate. As no organization, no company can cope with these
challenges alone, which we are all facing today. Therefore, we consider
the ability to cooperate over all conceivable barriers to be a core
competence which secures the future and we also provide special
learning environments for developing this competence.
Learning is Social –
People learn best from and with one another, and participation in
learning communities is vital to their effectiveness, well-being and
happiness in any work setting.
Orientation to that which is alive
– It is interesting that companies and other organizations often
create realities which none of their individuals actually want in this
way. From our own experience we know that organizations which develop
in a direction in which they maintain greater harmony with the human
nature, their true needs and our natural environment, enjoy more than
average success. This happens, because they provide intelligent,
holistic answers to the question: “Which future do we really
want?”
Cross-system thinking –
Organizations which network with others in communities of learning,
cooperation and meaning increase their leeway for evolution.
Social systems (like companies
and all other types of organizations) are produced by their actors and
at the same time determine the context for the actors’ actions.
This dynamic distinguishes both the degree of responsibility which the
actors of an organization attribute to themselves as well as the
existing doctrines and leading principles of an organization.
